Refund policy

The short version

If your Ironside filter isn't right, you have 30 days to return it for a full refund. Unused filters in original packaging, no questions asked. Used or installed filters are eligible only if defective.

Return window

You may return any Ironside filter within 30 days of the delivery date listed on your tracking. After 30 days, returns are evaluated case-by-case at our discretion.

What we accept

Standard returns (full refund): Filters in original packaging, unused, with all factory seals intact.

Defect returns (full refund or free replacement): Filters with manufacturing faults — torn media, missing wire backing, dimensional defects, or visible damage on arrival. Send us a photo within 7 days of delivery and we will replace or refund without requiring the filter back.

Wrong size or wrong MERV shipped: Our error. We send the correct filter the same business day and pay all return shipping.

What we don't accept

  • Filters that have been installed in an HVAC system
  • Filters with visible use, debris loading, or removed packaging
  • Custom or fractional sizes (non-standard dimensions are made-to-order and final-sale; this is disclosed on the product page)
  • Subscription filters returned after the second renewal cycle

Return shipping

Customer pays return shipping on standard returns. Ironside pays on defects, wrong items, or wrong sizes shipped.

For standard returns, you may use any carrier. We recommend a tracked service — packages lost in transit without tracking cannot be refunded.

How to start a return

  1. Email support@getironside.com with your order number and the reason for return.
  2. We respond within 1 business day with a return authorization (RMA) number and the return address.
  3. Ship the filter back with the RMA written on the outside of the box.
  4. Once received and inspected, we refund the original payment method.

Refund timeline

Refunds are issued within 3 business days of receiving and inspecting the return. Your bank or card issuer may take an additional 5–10 business days to post the refund to your statement.

Subscription refunds

Subscription orders are refundable on the same terms as one-time orders, but with two specific rules:

  • Your first subscription shipment is refundable in full within 30 days if unused.
  • Subsequent shipments are only refundable if defective or shipped in error. To stop future shipments, cancel your subscription in your account before the renewal date listed on your dashboard. See our Subscription Terms for details.

Damaged in transit

If your filter arrives crushed, wet, or torn, take a photo of the box and the filter before discarding anything. Email the photo to support@getironside.com within 7 days of delivery. We will replace the filter at no cost or refund in full — your choice.
